Asplund Search Gears Up for Growth
After a few challenging years for the construction and real estate industry, there is finally light on the horizon. The recruitment company Asplund Search—specialized in this very sector—is ramping up and expanding with another strong industry profile.
Danish Business Authority predicts growth in the construction industry for the current year, expecting a 1.9% increase in 2025. According to EDC, investment interest in the real estate sector is also set to rise in 2025. This prediction is based on feedback from 1,800 respondents and an expected decline in interest rates in 2025.
As activity picks up in the construction and real estate sectors, alongside increasing demands for sustainability and ESG compliance, companies must consolidate, reorganize, and hire new talent. Asplund Search & Consulting expects to be busy in this regard.
— I founded Asplund Search during a crisis, where placing the right people in the right positions was crucial. Now, things are improving, but I am convinced that the industry is aware of how fragile this progress is. We live in very uncertain times, and the cost of hiring the wrong people for key positions is something no one can afford. That is why we have hired another strong headhunting profile, so we are ready to assist with the right matches in future recruitments, says Bo Asplund.
The new profile at Asplund Search & Consulting is Jacob Møller-Nielsen. He is 57 years old, holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from DTU, and has spent nearly 30 years in various leadership positions at the construction giant Skanska, focusing on property and project development—both in Denmark and, for the past 10 years, internationally, most recently in Central and Eastern Europe.
Jacob’s approach has always been centered around curiosity, learning by doing, and putting people first—values he brings into his new role as a headhunter.
— I initially contacted Bo because I had been let go from Skanska. The downturn in real estate development unfortunately cost me my job, and I wanted to consult with Bo about new opportunities. During our conversations, the idea emerged that I should instead work as a headhunter at Asplund Search & Consulting. I am absolutely certain that I can contribute with my industry insight, expertise, and network.
I am very much looking forward to this new role, says Jacob Møller-Nielsen.
With this addition, Asplund Search & Consulting has expanded from two to three employees. The recruitment company, specializing in the construction and real estate sectors, now consists of Jacob Møller-Nielsen, founder Bo Asplund, and Morten Mølsted.
